At Mia Fratino, we believe in the power of compassion, community, and long-term impact. While our roots lie in creating beautiful, sustainable cashmere, our heart is also deeply invested in the people who are part of our extended family—especially those in Sri Lanka, where our garments are lovingly made.

In February this year, through the Mia Fratino Association, we had the privilege of giving back to families in Sri Lanka’s hill country—an area known for its stunning landscapes, tea plantations, and, unfortunately, limited access to essential educational resources.

Thanks to the generous support of our customers, we were able to provide a donation that directly benefited school-aged children in this region. With your help, we distributed school bags, essential stationery, and schoolbooks to children from families who would otherwise struggle to afford these items.

For many of these children, receiving a brand-new school bag filled with supplies isn’t just about having the tools to study. It’s about feeling valued, seen, and supported. It’s about walking into the classroom with confidence. And it’s about creating opportunities—because education is one of the most powerful ways to change the future for a child and their family.

This initiative aimed to ease the financial burden on families who already work tirelessly to provide the basics. In the hill country, where income is often reliant on seasonal or agricultural labor, families must make difficult choices about how to prioritize spending. Educational needs often come second to food and shelter. Our goal was to step in, even in a small way, to help lighten that load.

The smiles on the faces of the children receiving their school kits said everything. At Mia Fratino, we strive to create an impoact that goes beyond clothing. Every item we craft is made with care, respect, and a sense of responsibility toward both people and planet. This donation reflects our broader mission to be a business that gives back—not just in words, but in action.
