When we first met Susila she was keeping some chickens in a single poultry shed. Together with her husband, she managed the small business and scraped together just enough money to pay for food and schooling for their two children. With the loan from Mia Fratino she finished building a second shed. With capacity almost doubled Susila gained the attention of an established poultry company. She now has a contract with them and as a result has a regular income stream. Next she has set her sights on enlarging production yet again with a third henhouse.
Susila’s family has experienced a material change as a result of the Mia Fratino loan. The financial skills training and the loan together with the peer support and guidance from our local charity partner has given her confidence to follow her dreams and to improve the livelihood of her family.
